Quests by artifact
All 68 events. Each sits under the artifact whose land it starts in. Switch to play order for a safe sequence that respects prerequisites and the quests that can be missed. Tick a quest when you finish it; the status tags update. Tap a quest to see where it starts, what it needs and a step-by-step route.
After every event: go home, talk to Li'l Cactus, go downstairs to watch him write it on the leaf, then go back upstairs and save. Routes are put together from Legend of Mana Info, StrategyWiki and the Steam Complete Unlock Guide. A line marked Path is a move-by-move direction string from Legend of Mana Info. A few of its pages say they need an overhaul, so if a path does not match the screen, go by the steps above it.
Abilities and how to unlock them
You start with eight abilities. The other 18 unlock by winning battles with the listed abilities equipped. Tick what you have; each card says whether it is ready to train or what is still missing.
Special techniques by weapon
Every weapon type has its own list. Each technique needs a set of abilities. A technique shows Ready once you have every ability it needs, and Locked with the abilities to unlock first when you do not.
Opening places and facilities
What you must clear, in order, to open the Monster Corral, Orchard and each workshop, then the order to place every artifact. Steps tick themselves from your quest progress.

Quests by the NPC who starts them
Find the person, or the place that triggers it, then see which quest follows. Quests with no NPC start by entering a land or your workshop.
Forge: crafting and tempering
Forging builds a weapon or armor from one primary material. Tempering then reshapes it with secondary materials such as coins, seeds, claws and crystals. Use the buttons to move between sections.
Base stats of a forged item
Energy to raise an essence
Each level costs the material’s resistance for that element × 2 per level already reached, with a minimum of 8. Wizard cards (Sulpher and Mercury) lower the cost.
Tick the box on an item you are carrying. Open now lists what you can get from lands you have placed. Buy now lists what a shop you can reach sells. Green names are open to you; grey ones need a land you have not placed yet. Aroma Oil and Holy Water are sold in Geo (about 250 each, unconfirmed). Polpota Harbor also has them once its material shop is level 3. Poto also drops Aroma Oil, but only at monster level 16 or more. Other material shops: Domina (inn, second floor, room on the right), Gato Grottoes (temple area, first screen, top-left Student), Lumina (back alley behind the bar), Geo (market, building left of the Jewel Shop).
Farm plan by stage
Choose what to farm, craft and hatch from the lands you have placed. Each land lists its monsters and their drops, its egg spots, its shop and the money loops that use it. A locked land tells you what to finish to open it. Tick lands as placed in the Places tab and this page updates.
Best material you can get now
Money, selling and crafting for profit
Loops that earn Lucre, what raises an item's sale price, and the materials you can buy to craft from.
Drop finder
Search any item or monster, or browse the best targets. Each source shows the drop level, the monster level it needs and about how many kills one drop takes. Tick Need to add an item to your farm list.
Pet ranking
All 64 pets from highest to lowest base stats, with where to get each one. Tick the ones you own.
Best picks
Catching and feeding
- Catching an egg. You can only take it asleep. Wait out of its sight until it dozes off, or drop up to 4 fruit or meat in its path; one or two usually do it. Food it dislikes keeps it awake. The corral holds five.
- What hatches. When the corral is full, the sell prompt lists every egg with its HP. HP differs by species, which lets you tell eggs apart. Reported for poltergeist eggs: Chess Knight 21, Cursed Doll 25, Dainslaif 32, Polter Box 68.
- How often to feed. A pet eats up to 3 fruit or meat each time it gains a level. Reaching level 99 takes about 98 feedings, up to 294 items. Stats and level cap at 99, and each stat grows by at most 3.75 a level.
- Foods that matter. Dialaurel (1,000 Lucre after The Field Trip, #63) raises Power and Magic Defense growth. Cabbadillo raises Defense and the physical defenses but lowers Charm and Magic Defense. Rocket Papaya gives +1 Magic and +2 Charm. Gold Clover gives +1 Skill and +2 Luck. Toadstoolshed adds small amounts to many stats. Most full diets mix Cabbadillo and Dialaurel.
- Levels. Pets level by picking up Exp crystals in battle. The Forbidden Ring, a reward of The Wisdom of Gaia (#3), splits the crystals between you, your NPC and your pet. The last feeding at level 99 sets the personality.
- Selling. Jennifer in Domina buys pets; the price depends on species and level. The Sells figure below is the level 1 price.
Egg spots
Where each kind of egg sits, in placement order, with the pets it can hatch. Tick a spot when you have caught an egg there.
About Mana Compass
What this is
A fan-made companion for Legend of Mana Remastered: all 68 events in a missable-safe play order, skills, forging, farming and pets. Legend of Mana is a trademark of Square Enix. This guide is unofficial and not affiliated with or endorsed by Square Enix. The Li’l Cactus companion on these pages is an original drawing made for this guide, inspired by the game; it is not game artwork.
Names follow Legend of Mana Remastered. Older PS1 guides use different names for some materials: Beiser Gold (was Vizel Gold), Laurent Silver (Lorant Silver), Valsena Iron (Forsena Iron), Orichalcum (Orihalcon), Gaia’s Tears (Gaeus’s Tears), Seashell (Shell), Applesock (Applesocks) and Loquat-Shoe (Loquat-Shoes). Searching for an old name finds the new one.
Magic spells are not covered. Ability and technique names follow the Android remaster, with the original name shown where it changed. Quest, land and item names come from guides that mix both versions, so a few may not match your game.
The play order is checked by a route solver, and forging numbers by a tempering simulator calibrated on in-game readings. Both are on the project on GitHub. All icons are simple original drawings, not artwork from the game.
